Lake Smart Estates gets its name because it sits along the banks of Lake Smart, one lake in a chain of 3 navigable lakes. Winter Haven exists in a paradise-like setting between two major metropolitan centers (Tampa and Orlando) with international airports and a myriad of arts, cultural and recreational amenities within a 45 minute drive. You can enjoy a relaxing, family-oriented location with all the excitement of the “big city” just minutes away. Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Tampa Bay Bush Garden are all just minutes away….It truly is a great place to live, work and play … and quite affordably, too!!

Winter Haven has officially adopted the slogan, “The Chain of Lakes City.” Widely recognized as the water skiing capital of the world, World champion barefoot skier, Ron Scarpa, operates a barefoot skiing school on the chain. Winter Haven’s “Chain of Lakes” is a boater’s paradise. The famous chain is a unique series of 16 lakes connected by navigable canals. Winter Haven is 146 feet above sea level. Its city limits touch or surround more than 30 lakes. Polk County’s 2,002 square miles include 554 freshwater lakes.

Winter Haven has a population of more than 33,000 people its primary industries are healthcare, agribusiness, distribution, tourism and an emerging technology sector located in the heart of the downtown. Several industrial parks and an excellent transportation network of roads, railways and air travel serve our growing business community. Wal-Mart regional distribution center, State Farm Insurance and Sherwin-Williams Paint Company have major facilities here.

Evansville Western Railway, an affiliate of CSX Transportation, will build a multi-million-dollar Integrated Logistical Center (ILC) on a site within the community’s southern border. On-site employment is projected at 2,000 jobs with the potential for 6,500 more indirectly. The project is estimated to cost more than $10 billion at build out.
