Mortgage Rates at Record Low – First Time Below 4%

According to the Freddie Mac mortgage agency, today the average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage fell to the lowest rate ever, 3.94%. The average rate on a 15-year fixed-rate mortgage fell to 3.26%, also a record.
Mortgage rates could fall even further now that the Federal Reserve plans to reshuffle it’s portfolio of securities in effort to lower long-term rates.
